Pushing the stock ECU
This was a very well planned out Evo that had a great part list and it showed in the output. Looks almost 100% stock on the outside (stock wheels, ride height, etc) but packs a huge punch on straight 91 octane.
The owner came in with a “self-tune” on the car that was actually pretty good, although a tad aggressive for my liking. This car was fairly easy to tune and I contribute that to the well thought out parts and installs. The only slight problem on this car was the Blitz SBC-iD boost controller that wasn’t very consistent in it’s boost curves pull after pull, which led the power to be slightly different each pull. Just had to use a slightly different tuning style to make sure the car was safe with these small fluctuations in boost control.
